Group FacilitationWorking as a group facilitator is both a rewarding and challenging experience.
'Rewarding' - in enabling people to come together in a group setting to explore issues that arise, take responsibility for themselves and their learning, identify potential areas for change, achieve personal and/or group goals - whatever the focus of the group may be.
'Challenging' - in working with the changing dynamics within the group and ensuring that the group is a safe environment in which to work.
Having gained considerable experience working as a group facilitator in many different contexts - eg in Further Education, Higher Education, voluntary agencies, organisations etc - I enjoy working in the following groupwork settings:
- Personal Development Groups
- Support groups
- Therapy groups
- Work groups
