How I work?My counselling approach is person-centred/integrative. I work with individuals and couples, offering both daytime and evening appointments.
'Person-centred' - relates to the value I place on building a trusting relationship with you in which development and change can take place.
'Integrative' - relates to my ability to integrate into my practice aspects of the in-depth training I have undertaken in a range of theoretical approaches, and use the knowledge and skills I have gained to work with you to the best of my ability.
I offer an initial consultation which provides the opportunity for you to meet me, ask questions, and gain a sense of how I work. It is also an opportunity for me to learn a little about you and what you hope to gain from therapy. We can then talk through together, in a safe and confidential setting, how you would feel working with me, whether my approach would be right for you and whether the help you are seeking would be best met by counselling.
Counselling is most effective when there is continuity so it is important that sessions are arranged on a weekly basis where possible.
